What we never publish
Your name, your email, your employer, your job title, and any text you
include that could identify you or your company. Published benchmarks
show only job category and industry signals (echoing G2's anonymous-review
model). Your contract details are never displayed on their own — only as
part of an aggregate with at least four other submissions.
When your data appears in aggregates
A product's buyer-benchmark card is only shown on its page once we have
five or more approved submissions for that product.
Below that threshold, nothing is published — your submission sits in the
pending pool until we reach critical mass. We also disclose the sample
size (n=) and the date range of submissions every time a benchmark is
shown, the same way Vendr discloses its price-estimate sample size.
Verified anonymity (not actually anonymous to us)
Like G2, Capterra, and TrustRadius, we verify every contributor behind the
scenes so the data is trustworthy — we hash your email for deduplication
and your IP for abuse detection. But none of that is ever shared
publicly or with the vendor being reviewed. Verification happens
in our back office only.
Deletion on request
Email privacy@costbench.com with
the confirmation email we sent you and we'll remove your submission from
the aggregate. If removing your submission drops the sample below n=5,
the product's benchmark card is hidden until new submissions refill it.
What if I'm under NDA?
Many enterprise NDAs allow disclosure of your pricing in aggregated,
anonymized form. But you're the only person who can read your contract —
if you're unsure, don't submit.
What we do not do
We do not offer gift cards, cash, or other paid incentives in exchange for
submissions. We do not sell, share, or pass contributor data to vendors.
We do not label any submission as "featured" based on size of company or
deal value.
