Our pricing pipeline extracts and validates data from every product's public pricing page on the same schedule, whether a vendor pays us or not. Category rankings, best-of lists, and comparison recommendations are generated from data quality, coverage, and sourcing — never revenue. Sponsored placements are always labeled Sponsored on the pages where they appear, and they sit alongside — not in place of — organic results.

Common questions
How does profile claiming work?
Enter your work email on the claim page. We send a verification link to confirm your email matches the company domain for that product. Once verified, you get access to the free dashboard immediately.
Is the free plan really free forever?
Yes. The Free plan (claimed profile) has no time limit and no credit card required. You can submit corrections, view monthly stats, and display the Verified badge at no cost, indefinitely.
How accurate is the existing pricing data?
CostBench extracts pricing automatically from your public pricing page roughly once a month and validates it against multiple sources. Claiming your profile lets you flag corrections when data is outdated — paid plans move those corrections to a priority review queue, but the review methodology is the same for everyone.
Does paying change our pricing data, rankings, or recommendations?
No. Our extraction pipeline, category rankings, best-of lists, and comparison recommendations are generated from the same public data and quality signals for every product — independent of whether a vendor pays. Paid plans buy analytics depth, faster correction review, and clearly labeled sponsored placement. They don't influence how we score or rank products organically.
How do Promoted and Partner placements actually work?
On each category page, we reserve up to 3 sponsored slots for Promoted vendors and 1 exclusive slot for a Partner. These appear above the organic list and are always marked with a Sponsored label. The organic list below is unchanged — it's ranked by pricing transparency, tier depth, and data completeness, and Promoted/Partner vendors still appear in it based on those signals.
When will Promoted and Partner plans be available?
